We have a host of materials that give you a feel for the history of shoyu (soy sauce) making at Yamasa as an unbroken tradition since the Edo Period. Also on show are the old wooden casks used in the past and a range of information and advertising materials.
Our exhibits also include the oldest diesel engine powered locomotive still extant in Japan. It was imported in the late Taisho Era (1912 – 1926) and worked its way through day after day until 1964. It was named “Otto” for its designer and is still much loved by railway fans.
At our shops you can find a range of popular Yamasa products as well as famous items such as Nuresembei (Japanese say-sauce daubed crackers).
