The Anesaki Plant was put into operation in 1967 and went through various extension stages after this. At present, the plant has six units, with a total output of 3,600 MW.
About 30% of the grounds are park and green land covered with trees and greenery. It is the habitat of several tens of wild birds, including pheasants. This richness in nature has earned the facility the endearing name “Green Power Plant.”
It should be noted that:
The power plant is mainly fired by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) as the fuel for power generation. Apart from LNG, many other types of fuels such as LPG and petroleum can also be used.
This plant plays an important role as an output-adjustable thermal power supply callable of dynamically responding to demand fluctuations.
