


JFE Steel Co., Ltd. East Japan Iron Works (Chiba Region) is the first integrated iron and steel works built in post-war Japan on the coastline as a pioneer on the Keiyo (Tokyo-Chiba) Industrial Park.
It is a large steel mill built on 6,660 thousand sq. m grounds, a space 164 that of the Tokyo Dome. Harnessing leading-edge technology and facilities the plant manufactures high-grade steel products.
Located in the vicinity of an urban area the company is actively committed to environmental conservation and protection activities so as to harmonize with its neighboring city.
Our factory is open for sightseeing visits and invites you to have a look at the gigantic iron smelting furnace and our hot-rolling mill traversed by a 500m long red-hot iron sheet, a spectacle that is the hallmark of our iron smelting plant.
