Sawara Machinami Koryu Kan

This building functions as the center when you take a walk in Sawara. It is located at the center of the historical street (selected as the first “Important Traditional Architecture Conservation Area” in the Kanto district), leaving the look of the town in the Tokugawa, Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods.

The adjacent “Mitsubishi Pavilion” is a tangible cultural asset of Chiba. Making use of the merit of being close to Narita International Airport, Katori City is aggressively promoting invitation of foreign tourists under the slogan, “Only 30 min. From Narita.”

The members of Katori International Friendship Association are stationed at the hall on a full-time basis, giving explanation about the street of Sawara in English. Rental bikes are available.
