The pond is located on a hill where Konodai borders on Naka Kokubun.
The pond is called “Water shield pond” because a lot of water shields are growing.
The pond with a large quantity of water is in a park that also has beautiful trees.
The only ume grove in the city is at its best from February to the beginning of March. You can see azaleas in summer; Osmanthus fragrans, liquidambar, and mountain maples with colored leaves in autumn; wild ducks that come flying in winter.
“Toryuan,” a tea room in the park, is available for the tea ceremonies. (Reservation necessary)
