Forest productsBamboo shoot is a representative food of spring, and Chiba boasts the highest production volume in Kanto. Otaki town, Katsuura city, and Ichihara city are the main production areas. Chiba is also second in terms of output of mushrooms in Japan, accounting for 24% of the national’s total.

Thick roll sushiThick roll sushi has been passed down as a food for ceremonial occasions and gatherings since long ago, and represents Chiba’s local cuisine. Using various foodstuffs including agricultural products and seafood, this traditional local dish is delicious and also attractive to look at, with its various designs such as letters and drawings.
