The Haniwa (ancient clay figure) Festival was created
in 1982 to allow people remember how wonderful the ancient
times that we are about to forget are. At the festival,
approx. 60 ancient people appear at Tonozuka, an ancient
tomb made in the later half of the 6th century, seeing
and hearing the present development of Shibayama Town
through various rites and interchange between the ancient
and present people throughout the day.
