Naritasan Park famous for ume blossoms has 460 white
and red ume trees. An outdoor tea ceremony is held in
the ume garden above Monjyu Pond (Ichino-Ike) by Omote
Senke Narita Tea Ceremony Group on Sundays and holidays.
Amazake is offered free of charge and contributors
haiku are read in the Western-style garden under Heiwa
tower.

This a newly planned festival, regarding the front
approach that leads to Shinshoji Temple as a theatrical
space. Japanese drum groups that represent respective
prefectures in Kanto do performance, and stores along
the front approach entertain visitors in a unique manner.

Together with Gion-e that is an event of Naritasan
Shinshoji Temple, Narita Gion Festival is one of the
greatest festivals held in Narita for three days in
early July every year. During the period, people carry
a portable shrine, as well as about ten decorated festival
cars and stages that belong to respective blocks of
the city. More than 300,000 viewers gather every year.

Naritasan Park is an attractive park with four distinctive
seasons. The park is charming especially in the season
when leaves of trees color. On Saturdays and Sundays
during the period, an orthodix tea ceremony (free of
charge) is held by Omote Senke Narita Tea Ceremony Group
, and Japanese harps, bamboo flutes, and Chinese fiddles
are played at Ukimido on Ryuchi Pond (Sanno-Ike) in
the park. A photographic contest is also held.
